HONORING WOMEN'S HEALING THROUGH NUTRITION

Join us tomorrow to hear from women in our community who have experienced healing through plant-based nutrition, learn insights from Jessica Krant, MD, MPH on the role of nutrition in women’s health conditions, and engage in discussions with others. Guided small group conversations will explore female cancers, thyroid health and healthy aging, trauma-informed nutrition, healthy cycles and pregnancies, autoimmune conditions, and a healthy gut.

Brooklyn Jumpstart Farmer's Market Tour
PPMNY Organizer Andrea Provvido and PPMNY Nutrition Educator Gail Mayer, MS, RD, CDN, recently collaborated to share how our food choices impact our health, and the health of the environment, with the Fontbonne Hall Academy's Social Justice Club.  PPMNY Brooklyn Organizers and Jumpstart Mentors Danielle Medina and Emani Parsons hosted a tour of the Grand Army Plaza Farmer's Market for our jumpstart participants. There were plenty of local root vegetables, and they spent time learning with Kira from Evolutionary Organics farm in New Paltz.

Mia, one of our 21-Day Plant Powered Jumpstart graduates, shared her radish and pea shoot salad made from ingredients she gathered at our farmer's market tour. Congratulations to all of our jumpstart graduates and tremendous thanks to our educators, mentors, and partners!  PPMNY intern Natalie Khoo, RD, CSP, CDN, CNSC demonstrated a creamy, plant-based mac and cheese recipe during our March Family Fitness & Food Workshop.
